Poem: The Price for Wisdom is sanity

Image
The price for wisdom is sanity In a world of wise men, A fool is who I wish to be Without lavish cars and big homes Sitting mindlessly under a tree I ponder upon the mysteries of the world Hoping my dreams turn into reality If life was a seed buried beneath dirt Then hope would be raindrops falling Get up, grow big and bring a change You’re not to be taken for granted So, is there a world you long to see? Are you the somebody you want to be?

World Poetry Day: Well-behaved women never made history

I can imagine Virgina, With her pocket full of stones, Still trying to convince Sylvia The oven was meant for baking scones And Amy Winehouse sitting back With a glass filled with cognac Taking fashion advice from Marilyn While the wallpaper stares at Perkins And Parker tries again to slit her wrist And yet amidst these literary heroines And giants of the past There’s this terrible agony I wonder where it comes from? Was it passed down from the first taunt ‘This ain’t how girls behave?’ Control and endure and don’t try To make a name. Akhmatova begging for her son’s life I can picture it so clear. Rowling accused of being a witch Arundhati surrounded by sneers. What is it that makes people so contemptuous Of their life? That made Miao-Chin leave the pen And pick up a knife? On the occasion of World Poetry Day, my tribute to history's most impactful females and how they suffered.

Poem: Wicked

There was a time when breathing felt good Now it's just a necessity, Living became surviving Dreams became aspirations, Imagination blurred away Emotions never stay. Future used to be the light exploding Now it's a ghost in the shadowy corner How wonderful growing up is! No surprise this is what they wanted Killed a beating heart for the ticking clock This is what was lost, The chirping birds, and stars infinite The touch of magic, under the moonlight Now when the ink dries untouched, The paper cries for its beloved. And when she drifts afloat in the cold water Her mind wanders to his wicked smile.

Poem: This can't be love

Eyes don't meet Yet hearts connect  Stuttering bambling rants Still smile on the face Can feel your breath on my neck My heart still hammering It's no fate,  no luck My destiny is struggling Feel your heartbeat Know your thoughts  We're in the backseat Our limbs in knots Your lips are my ink My skin your canvas  This body will sink I've never known such madness No.. Don't say a word You'll ruin this fantasy This can't be love When it's pure ecstasy Your eyes see the soul Your touch makes me whole We will catch up with life later Emotions are so much greater.
