Letter: I don't even Recognize you anymore

I don't even recognise you anymore. Your face, your words, your personality is all different. And I'm sure if I heard your voice now I wouldn't recognise that either. And now that I think about it, it would probably feel the same if I looked in the mirror now. Time has changed right? And both of us have as well. But amidst all these changing years you have been the constant AND the variable. We have been the best of friends and yet fallen apart so many times. Only to find our way back to each other. Sorry that it was always you who made the effort. I let people go with too much ease. But it's always a happy feeling to have you back. Maybe this will be the last time. We WILL stay friends after this. It just is so weird. Me seeing you after a year and half, without realising it had already been that long. You not noticing me and me mistaking it for you ignoring me. You looked scary, truly. Because of the air of determination around you. You looked larger than your p

Purpose for existence

Do you ever wonder how your life affects someone else? How much of an influence you are to others and what parts of you are intertwined with other people in the world? You can't go around living in isolation even if you wish to and so that touch you leave behind with everyone you've met, isn't that your true legacy? We, humans, are conscious beings with brains, life, voices. And yet we go around from birth to death in an endless cycle of work and talk and nothing else. There is no purpose, just aimless existence. Then what makes us go on? What makes us keep breeding and breathing without falling utterly in despair? Is it our ability to ignore what does not serve us happiness? Or is it the emotions? Because life is worth living as long as you can feel right? Everything from joy to pain to hatred. It all exists. It is what keeps us ALIVE. And that's our legacy. Not how much work we've done for people, not the money we've earned, not the things we'

What's wrong with Indian Debut authors

Image
I had a good time reading such incredible books for 5 years and then one day I decided, hey why don't I give Indian literature a chance? After all, I do live here. My first book like many other Indian readers was by Chetan Bhagat. Unfortunately, I seemed to have picked the worst of his books, being '3 Mistakes of my life' (reading that was a big mistake of my life) and 2 states (Because I wanted to watch the movie and can't watch without reading). Again I was disappointed. But I did not lose hope. The problem is that I had no one to guide me. To show me the way of GOOD Indian Literature. I hadn't heard of Arundhati Roy, Salman Rushdie and Amitav Ghosh. Every time I tried to look, I'd end up with something like Durjoy Dutta which would make me lose faith even more.  Then I discovered the Indian Publishing Markets and since I was already an established reviewer, it wasn't hard getting review copies of  New books by Debut authors . Because fresh mind, new

Song #4 Insecure

Image
My name is No I'm insecure And I've been walking,  I've been crying on the road. I walk so slow Hard to let go So I've been holding, I've been carrying all my load. I was so sure. Won't hurt no more. But I've been thinking, I've been drinking my sorrow. And I won't behold Everything you throw So I will punch and I will fight you all alone. Not gonna show The scars endured But I've been learning, I've been healing more and more. Nah. Just gonna go Down the dark hole So I'll be rotten and forgotten to the bone.  Join me on   |  Facebook  |   Tumblr |  Instagram

We are waiting, we will wait

Image
We, the people of Jammu have the patience of a rock. We are the pain stone for all those who come into our city with their own sad story and unload their pain upon us. We, in turn, give them a place to call home, a neighborhood they can feel safe in, a market they can work at. We, in turn, ask our administrators to understand our needs, our day-to-day requirements and do work for our benefit. We wait for our cultural and historical heritage Mubarak Mandi to be restored and renovated. We ask when the work to make Raghunath Bazar a heritage bazar will start. We demand to know till when the Artificial Lake Project and Tawi Beautification project will be completed. We want Metro in Jammu. We want Ring Road to be completed. We want to see Jambu Zoo beyond the existing structure. We need an answer and we need it soon. We are told all projects will be completed. We agree. We are told the internet will be restored. We wait. We are told Jammu will have to sacrifice for Kashmir. We have

Song #3 Mona Lisa Smile

Image
I saw you walking around without a ride I stopped and talked and I casually said hi What would've happened if I had just drove by But couldn't forget I couldn't let go of that Mona Lisa smile An aesthetic motion, the look beneath your eyes But you shrugged and walked away without a try And that is how we'll make it, I know We are meant to be this, I know. So let me take away, all the things you hide. Let me walk with you in the dark goodbye. And hold you close even when you cry And I'll always treasure your Mona Lisa smile No matter what  I  wouldn't let go I'll fight the big fight, you won't be alone.  Join me on   |  Facebook  |   Tumblr |  Instagram

Song #2 Never say Never again

One drop of whiskey A shot of misery Makes me shout  Loud I never parted with the crowd But you found Me out.  To hell with me And my story It's unknown So, Of all the people  I don't deal with Why'd You become My home? Never say never again When I tell u to tell Me my own name Never feed my broken vanities I'm outspoken but got Stolen sanities. It's Alllright It's ohkaaaaay It's just fine We don't care Till we die We'll just say Never say never again Oh I'll never say never again You never tell me when it'll end So I'll never say 'Never again.' Double shot of vodka Back of my car We'll be done Soon Ain't it fun When we do it Like this? To hell with what they say It's forgotten Why Of all the people That I've been with You never see me as rotten. Break me till you make me again I don't know what I know About this wonderful game Never steal my unspoken thoughts

Kingdom of Ashes (A Wicked Thing #2) by Rhiannon Thomas

Image
368 pages Published February 23rd 2016 by HarperTeen Add to Goodreads Blurb: Asleep for a hundred years, awoken by a kiss. Aurora’s life was supposed to be a fairytale. But since discovering that loyalty to the crown and loyalty to her country are two very different things, Aurora knows she can only dream of happily ever after. Once the enchanted princess, savior of her people, she is now branded a traitor. Aurora is determined to free her home from the king’s tyrannical rule, even if it means traveling across the sea to the kingdom of the handsome and devious Prince Finnegan—someone who seems to know far more about her magic than he should. However, Finnegan’s kingdom has perils of its own, and any help he gives Aurora will come at a price. As Aurora and Finnegan work together to harness her power—something so fiery and dangerous that is as likely to destroy those close to Aurora as it is to save them—she begins to unravel the mysteries surrounding the curse that

Song #1 One bad lover to Another

If I don't tell you I love you After every fight If I don't sleep next to you Every Single night If my mouth doesn't make the words or the sounds and shapes How would you behave? If I told you it's my skin That screams our your name Is never an actual word Just a familiar sound I think I have heard It in my head quite loud If I don't tell you I love you Every second of every day But I show it to you Whenever I can't say Would you let me love Every single part of you? Even the broken, the numb one Will you let me through? If I tell you I love you At times when we are apart Would you still hold and cherish The crumpled mess that is my heart?

Poem: Wicked

There was a time when breathing felt good Now it's just a necessity, Living became surviving Dreams became aspirations, Imagination blurred away Emotions never stay. Future used to be the light exploding Now it's a ghost in the shadowy corner How wonderful growing up is! No surprise this is what they wanted Killed a beating heart for the ticking clock This is what was lost, The chirping birds, and stars infinite The touch of magic, under the moonlight Now when the ink dries untouched, The paper cries for its beloved. And when she drifts afloat in the cold water Her mind wanders to his wicked smile.

Congress helped AAP win in Delhi by doing nothing

Image
Congress’s absence from the Delhi elections worked in the favour of Aam Aadmi Party but what does this say for the Senior Congress Leaders who are taking BJP’s defeat as a win for the Congress? While the fact remains that non-interference of Congress in the Delhi elections has strengthened the opposition by letting a regional leader take over the National Capital once again but Congress’s decimation from the Delhi elections once again shows that the party that ruled the country for ages has been reduced to nothing in the grassroots. It is understandable that the main cause of Kejriwal’s win in the Delhi elections was Aam Aadmi Party’s developmental efforts through the five years it remained in power, the absence of Congress also worked heavily towards consolidating the vote-bank of people who simply wished to vote against BJP. But while this anti-BJP sentiment always worked in the favour of Congress in the past and remained their election strategy, now they might have to reth

Movie Review : Victor Frankenstein (2015)

Image
Imdb:  Link Buy Blu-ray  here:  Amazon My Ratings: 6 stars out of ten Review: I'm not a huge fan of classics, yet Frankenstein is a story everyone likes. The concept of creating life out of death and how horribly wrong it could go. This movie isn't a strict adaptation of Mary Kelly's book, instead the result of Max Landis' imagination. A mad scientist, a genius clown, a dream to re-animate the dead. This movie shows the point of view of Igor who came across Frankenstein under horrendous circumstances. But Victor recognized his genius mind and gave him a new life. Igor helped Victor in his experiments, he was enchanted by the passion Frankenstein had for his work. Most part of the movie is how Igor and Victor work through the experiments, Igor handles his new life and explores what it means for him, while developing a romantic relationship with Lorelei. Oh did I forget to mention, there was a police officer trying to expose their immoral work which he consi

Review: The Shannara Chronicles Season 1

Image
The Shannara Chronicles is a Fantasy drama TV series based on  The Elfstones of Shannara by  Terry Brooks  which is the second book in The Original Shannara Trilogy ( Add on Goodreads) . Now I prefer reading the books before I start a show or watch the movie adaptation. Blame the reader in me. I like details and to have an insight on the characters and situations. But in this show, I dove in without reading the book first (I still haven't read it yet and I don't think I will.)

Poem: This can't be love

Eyes don't meet Yet hearts connect  Stuttering bambling rants Still smile on the face Can feel your breath on my neck My heart still hammering It's no fate,  no luck My destiny is struggling Feel your heartbeat Know your thoughts  We're in the backseat Our limbs in knots Your lips are my ink My skin your canvas  This body will sink I've never known such madness No.. Don't say a word You'll ruin this fantasy This can't be love When it's pure ecstasy Your eyes see the soul Your touch makes me whole We will catch up with life later Emotions are so much greater.

Internet in India: Development, Future and Challenges

New media basically refers to the current online media. Online media also requires a basic understanding of the equipment and set-up. Internet in India: Development The Internet came to India in the form of Videsh Sanchar Nigam Limited (VSNL) in -1995. Internet wasn’t and still isn’t controlled by a single organization. Internet and Mobile Association of India also governs internet along with TRAI (Telecom Regulatory authority of India). After 2000, the internet started growing in India. Blogging and social media sites like Orkut and Facebook started emerging.    Internet emerged as a revolutionary technology converting passive consumers of mass communication into prosumer (producer+ consumer) with the general public creating content as well as consuming it. An added option of feedback made communicating through the Internet a two-way street. With the emergence of Youtube, Vimeo and other video platforms, emergence of New media began in India. In today’s time, approxima

Introducing Myself

Hello everyone. Artlexicons means the language of art. As an aesthete, I tend to find beauty in everything but my standards of beauty are much different than the world. I don't find beauty in colours, I find them in shades of blacks and grey. I might choose to bare my heart out in the form of a letter to a stranger or impart knowledge upon you through Mass Communication studies.
