Review:

I'm not a huge fan of classics, yet Frankenstein is a story everyone likes. The concept of creating life out of death and how horribly wrong it could go. This movie isn't a strict adaptation of Mary Kelly's book, instead the result of Max Landis' imagination.

A mad scientist, a genius clown, a dream to re-animate the dead.
This movie shows the point of view of Igor who came across Frankenstein under horrendous circumstances. But Victor recognized his genius mind and gave him a new life. Igor helped Victor in his experiments, he was enchanted by the passion Frankenstein had for his work. Most part of the movie is how Igor and Victor work through the experiments, Igor handles his new life and explores what it means for him, while developing a romantic relationship with Lorelei.
Oh did I forget to mention, there was a police officer trying to expose their immoral work which he considered Work of Satan?
I liked the Cinematography and the acting of Daniel Radcliffe as well as James McAvoy and Andrew Scott but this movie is too long and there isn't much to the story.
One could easily predict most of it. There isn't much thrill or action. And that is what this movie lacked. I still liked watching the deep relationship between Igor and Victor as it grew even with their difference of opinions. Where Victor was unafraid to take even the most hardest of steps in order to achieve his goals, Igor had different thoughts on which lines he wouldn't cross. And yet their friendship is visible throughout.
The 19th century London is potrayed really well, and we see the dilemma of morals contradicting with immortality. But Frankenstein's Monster or Promethius as he calls it, doesn't appear until the very end.
This movie is more for the sensible audience who don't mind some gruesome details and can see the bigger plotline which is Morals vs Science. And should Death be permanent, if life is temporary?
